Lake Barrington The Village of Lake Barrington is a rural community located approximately 42 miles northwest of Chicago in Lake County, Illinois. Geographically, Lake Barrington consists of over 3500 acres of land (equivalent to approximately 6.5 square miles), much of it being forest preserves and wetlands. The current population is 4,757, based on the 2000 Census, of which about two-thirds reside in the planned unit development of Lake Barrington Shores.
Lake Barrington Shores is a 1317 unit Condominium Community on several hundred acres of property with about 86 different floorplans.
The community includes many ponds and a private 100 acre lake, a recreational center, and a private forest preserve.
Although not part of LBS Community Homeowners Association, a private 18 hole golf course club, winds its way through the west side of the property.
